Industry, Energy and Mining Minister of Uruguay and A Business Delegation Visiting JUMORE

      On Feb. 5th, accompanied by Uruguayan Ambassador to China Fernando Lugris, Industry, Energy and Mining Minister of Uruguay Carolina Cosse leads a business delegation to JUMORE Beijing Office, and has meetings with JUMORE Chairman Lu Hongxiang. They last met during the 10th China-Lac Business Summit held in Tangshan City of North China’s Hebei Province in October 2016.

  During the meeting,Carolina Cosse speaks highly of JUMORE’s operation model and says its her great pleasure to visit an enterprise like JUMORE, who plays an active role in promoting cross-border trade and cooperation under the “Belt and Road” Initiative. She also says that, JUMORE is creating more opportunities for the bilateral trade between China and Uruguay.
  Minister Cosse briefs on the basic situation of China–Uruguay cooperation. She says China and Uruguay have built strategic partnership relations, and this year also marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, at such a time, Uruguay is optimistic about the prospect of China–Uruguay economic and trade cooperation. At present,Uruguay boasts political stability, sound legal systems and adequate information infrastructures. Therefore, the minister sincerely invites JUMORE to build a branch in Uruguay, and take advantages of resources Uruguay has in such areas as tax, logistics and trade, to explore market potentials in other Latin American countries. Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining and other departments concerned, such as Business Associations,Telecommunication Agencies and Councils for Trade Promotion are all ready to provide full support.
  The Latin America is the second fastest growing market for e-commerce just behind Asia-Pacific Region.The past ten odd years have seen more than twenty times increase in China-Uruguay trade volume, and China has become the second largest trading partner, with cross-border e-commerce business the main impetus. Against such a backdrop, JUMORE has built cooperation with more than 20 Latin American countries including Uruguay and forged a “Digital Silk Road”for China-Uruguay Cooperation.
  At present, JUMORE is discussing with countries along the Belt and Road about building digitalized trade platforms. Mr. Lu Hongxiang says JUMORE is willing to deploy the cooperation model in other Latin American countries, to provide smooth, safe and effective mechanisms for trade among those economies. Besides, in 2018, JUMORE will be speeding up its cooperation procedure with Latin American countries, studying the feasibility of building branches in Uruguay and other Latin American countries, and by way of localized e-commerce cooperation, promote the alignment of those Latin American countries with Chinese market and even global markets, thus realizing connectivity in various fields and boosting the upgrading of China-Uruguay economic and trade cooperation.

  At the end of the meeting, the more than 30 specialist entrepreneurs accompanying Minister Carolina Cosse exchange views on e-commerce, big data, cloud computing, smart city, internet finance with JUMORE representatives and many consensuses are reached. Some of the delegates visit JUMORE again the next day and carry out in-depth conversations. At the same time, JUMORE attends the  reception to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Uruguay hosted by the Uruguayan embassy in China, and has happy discussions with representatives from various circles of Uruguay and emissaries of Latin American countries.
